CLASSES FOR PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Taught by Cary Nemeroff, Certified Educator, M.A. Teachers College, Columbia University

The martial arts can be a powerful tool to help build your child's focus, confidence, strength, overall health and knowledge of how to deescalate and resolve confrontation.

I can design and teach a martial arts curriculum that incorporates a combination of physical and cognitive skill building, measured by meaningful benchmarks that lead to achieving the goals that you and I can agree upon for your child.

I have  years experience teaching martial arts to children and adults with Special Needs that include physical and cognitive challenges such as Autism, ADD, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome.

I have crafted and taught customized Special Needs martial arts programs in organizations such as United Cerebral Palsy, NYC Charter School for Autism and the JCC in Manhattan.  I also have extensive classroom experience and certification teaching academics to primary and secondary aged students who have Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to address their educational needs.
